One of Waterloo’s oldest and most desirable neighbourhoods to live in, Colonial Acres has many beautiful homes ranging from attractive two-story family homes to large executive estates. Located in the heart of Waterloo, Colonial Acres is very close to amenities and public attractions such as the Conestoga Mall, Uptown Waterloo, St. Jacobs and easy to access via the expressway.

While the area does not have public schools within its boundaries, there are schools nearby such as the Lester B. Pearson Public School for grades 1-6 with French immersion, high school study at Bluevale Collegiate Institute and Catholic school education at both St. Luke Catholic School and St. David Catholic Secondary School.

Colonial Acres offers a quiet retreat within the city and is within easy access of Grey Silo Golf Course, an 18-hole public golf course that is part of the expansive RIM city park.The city of Waterloo offers access to five large parks: 490-acre RIM park with an 18-hole golf course and heritage Martin Farm House; 45-acre Waterloo park with historical buildings, a bandshell, and animal displays in its 45 hectares (110 acres); 110-acre Bechtel Park with outdoor sporting facilities, wetlands, meadows and hardwood forestand an off-leash; 62-acre Hillside Park with two lighted ball diamonds; Lexington Park with a ball diamond and a soccer pitch; and 740-acre Laurel Creek Conservation Area, lying to the northwest of the city.

Accessible by car, right within Waterloo, Colonial Acres can also be reached by taking Grand River Transit (GRT) and the ION Light Rail Transit. The region is just 13 minutes (12.7 km via ON-85) away from the University of Waterloo. From the University, head eastbound on Westmount Road N and Victoria Street South
