All about Uxbridge series: Shopping and dining in Uxbridge

There are many attractions in Uxbridge, but I think some of the interesting local merchants and fantastic restaurants are what really sets the area’s shopping and dining apart from others.

  • Low’s Furniture – located at 76 Brock St. West has been a staple in Uxbridge shopping since 1860. Yes, you read that right! What began as the Uxbridge Piano and Organ Co. (and also sold caskets and furniture) from the original location, the store has been on Brock Street since 1891. The store sells brand name quality furnishings, much of which is made in North America. Featuring a 10,000 square foot showroom, Low’s also offers complete interior design services in-store or through in-home consultations.
  • The Passionate Cook’s Essentials – located at 68 Brock St. West, this kitchenware store and culinary studio is a home cook’s dream. Choose from top-of-the-line kitchenware, fine foods and artisan cheese, or take an in-store cooking class and expand your cooking repertoire. The store also offers Friday Night Feasts – perfect for the commuter after a long work week. Each week a different delicious, pre-made meal is offered and just needs to be ordered by Wednesday to ensure it’s ready for pickup. What a great service!
  • Tin Mill Restaurant – Offering casual dining dressed up, this restaurant and bar located at 53 Toronto St. North is in a renovated turn-of-the-century flour mill, which really offers a lot of character. You’ll enjoy a menu filled with creative culinary treats and home-baked desserts, as well as a great cocktail and wine list and a variety of local beers on tap. This bike friendly restaurant serves up great date nights every Tuesday and Wednesday night where two can dine for just $50. Another great service for commuters!
  • Urban Pantry Restaurant – often referred to as Uxbridge’s trendy casual eatery, the restaurant is located at 4 Toronto St. North and serves globally influenced, locally sourced food for lunch and dinner daily, as well as breakfast on the weekends. The eatery also offers a Big Fat Greek Feature Menu in homage to the proprietors’ heritage. Yum!
