What to Expect
Farm Gate Stand: These informal farm gate stands operate on a self-serve system. Pick up your items and deposit money in the container provided. You may or may not see someone operating the stand.
Farm Gate Store: Often a more formal store setting on farm with posted operating hours. Note that hours may change seasonally.
Local Food Shop: Not located on the farm, but a location that sources and sells primarily local food sourced from Perth County farms. These shops have specific hours that may adjust seasonally.
Home Based Sales: Sales take place from a personal home on a farm. You may see a sign, but no stand directly at the farm gate.
Fun Facts
- Some farms grow fresh greenhouse produce such as lettuce, tomatoes, and brussels sprouts all year long
- Amish Mennonite Farms do not offer sales on Sundays.
- Perth County is home to 200,000 hectares of prime agricultural land.
