2013 Q1 Real estate market update

The Toronto Real Estate Board reported that sales in the first quarter of 2013 were down by 14 per cent compared to Q1 2012 in the Toronto and GTA areas.

The actual number of listings in York Region was only down slightly by 1.5% compared to 2012. In Durham, new listings were down 15.3%.

There was good news to report overall in York Region with detached home prices up by 12.3% year-to-date compared to the same period in 2012.

Georgina prices were up by 15.7%. East Gwillimbury reported the lowest increase of 2.75% with the exception of Brock Township reporting a 1.23% decrease of detatched home prices.
