Real Estate Market Tidbits — No Cooling the Toronto Market!

Real Estate Market Tidbits — No Cooling the Toronto Market!

March results were recently published by The Toronto Real Estate Board.  As a Realtor, I am certainly not surprised with the sales statistics.  We want you to be in “the know” too.

Here are some tidbits that you should know!

  • In March,  the average price of a detached home in Central Toronto has actually exceeded $1,400,000.
  • Semi-detached prices are equally as staggering with an average price over $800,000.
  • East-end properties remain the hottest in the Toronto area which, includes Riverdale, Leslieville and the Beaches.
  • The average sale price of an east-end home came in at $608,980. and sales in March averaged 109% of their asking price…..and they sold on average in 10 days.

Lack of inventory of available homes and low interest rates are the main factors driving this activity in the real estate market.  We expect inventory levels to increase in April which may serve the market well in minimizing the escalating increase in values which he have some on a month-to-month basis.
